Educational gaps in Colombia

This document addresses the urgent need to reduce learning inequalities among students across the country, using the results of the Saber 11° test from 2021 and the proposals from the book Rethinking Education by the ExE Foundation. Key proposals include generating data to identify students who have dropped out of the education system and offering them flexible mechanisms to graduate, as well as implementing remedial programs such as Aula Global and Aprendamos Todos a Leer. Additionally, the document suggests updating basic competency standards, assigning talented teachers to schools with the greatest needs, supporting caregivers in students’ educational processes, increasing investment in socio-emotional programs, expanding educational coverage, and preventing school dropouts.
